1. Lanh Giang temple festival 

Time: The 18th - 25th of the June lunar month and the 25th of the August lunar month

Address: Yen Lac village, Moc commune, Duy Tien district, Ha Nam province
 

Lanh Giang Temple Festival is one of the famous traditional festivals in Ha Nam. Lanh Giang Temple is the place to worship the three generals of the Hung Kings period and princesses Tien Dung, Chu Dong Tu. Every year, every June and August, people in the region hold a festival to remember the merits of the generals, as well as to pray for favorable weather and God's protection against natural disasters, storms and floods.

On the day of the festival, people plant palanquins and pull the coals in front of the temple, then perform a ceremony to say goodbye. On the primary day of the festival, there will be a palanquin ceremony around the temple. On the festival's last day, there will be a thanksgiving ceremony, lowering the flag. Besides the holy rituals, there are also engaging activities such as lion dance, dragon dance, Chau van singing, Cheo mats, martial arts, card game, rice blowing, cock fighting, monkey bridge, and human chess, … 

2. Ba Danh temple festival 

Time: The February of lunar calendar

Address: Ba Danh pagoda, Danh Xa village, Ngoc Son commune, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province

Ba Danh Temple (Ba Danh Pagoda) is the place to worship Phap Vu, one of the four gods of the Four Dharmas. The festival is held to pray for favorable weather, good harvests, and a prosperous and happy people's life.

Today's festival retains traditional rituals and folk games such as tug of war, human chess, and boat racing,... In 2019, the Ba Danh pagoda festival was included in the national intangible cultural heritage sites list.

3. Tran Thuong temple festival

Time: The 18th - 20th of the August lunar month 

Address: Tran Thuong temple, Nhan Dao commune, Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province
 

Tran Thuong Temple is the place to worship the national hero Tran Hung Dao. 

Tran Thuong Temple Festival is held to commemorate the merits of Tran Hung Dao and national heroes who had value in the war against the Nguyen Mong army in the 13th century.

The festival takes place over three days. On the festival's primary day, sacrificial activities such as the flag procession, palanquin procession, and incense offering are performed by the elderly in the village. In addition, the festival also organizes attractive games such as shrimp loaf, going to the overseas bridge, breaking the pot, chess, ... attracting a large number of visitors.

4. Gua village festival 

Time: The 4th of the January lunar month 

Address: Gua village, Liem Thuan commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province 
 

Referring to the traditional festivals in Ha Nam, it is impossible to ignore the Gua village festival. Gua village festival is held on the 4th day of the January lunar month every year, with two parts: the Ritual and the Assembly. The Ritual includes ceremonies and processions performed by dignitaries in the village. After the Ritual ends, there will be an Assembly with many attractive folk games showing chivalry, such as bridge robbery, wrestling, duels, and sugarcane slashing,... The festival also has many exciting Tuong performances to serve people in the evening.

In particular, at the Gua village festival, the bridge robbery competition is the one that attracts the most participants. The game takes place at the hour of the Snake. The team that wins will enter the palace and receive a sacred wish.

5. Truc temple festival 

Time: The 6th to 10th of the February lunar month 

Address:  Quyen Son village, Thi Son commune, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province 
 

Truc temple festival, also known as the Quyen Son festival, is the biggest festival of the year in Ha Nam, attracting many tourists. The festival is widely held from Truc temple to the edge of Cam mountain, Thi pagoda.

In the early morning of February 6th, the palanquin's procession came to the Truc communal house's door to make incense offerings and sacrifices by dignitaries in the village. After the end of the ritual, there will be attractive games such as cock-fighting, human chess, tug of war, wrestling, hit the hanging clay pots, ... The most impressive ones are boat racing and Dam dance.

6. Dau village festival 

Time: the 15th of the February lunar month 

Address: My Doi village, An My commune, Binh Luc district, Ha Nam province 
 

Dau village festival is the most famous festival in Ha Nam, expressing gratitude to three heroes who had merits in the resistance war against the Ming invaders.

Dau village festival in Ha Nam consists of two main parts. The first part is the contest of raising fat and clean pigs, making thick cakes, planting sugar cane and planting fruits to make offerings. The second part of the festival is the sports part, which begins at the hour of the Rat on February 14th. It will use pork, Day cake and sugarcane juice for the armies to eat and drink.
