The Doi Son Tich Dien Festival is divided into two parts, the ceremony part and the festival part. The ceremony includes: the procession of King Le Dai Hanh's incense sticks from Lang temple to Doi Son commune; water procession to the Than Nong Altar; Praying for peace ceremony at Doi pagoda; sanctification ceremony; King Le Dai Hanh's palanquin procession, the opening ceremony of the Tich Dien festival; Village Tutelary God palanquin and Drum Craft Patron palanquin. Here, the palanquin procession headed to the field where King Le Dai Hanh had plowed at the beginning of the year to encourage people to grow rice and take care of agriculture. Next is the ceremony to worship Than Nong, this ceremony will pray for a new year with good harvests and prosperity. After the ceremony of worshiping Than Nong is completed, there will be an opening drum performance performed by the female drum team of Doi Tam village combined with a dragon dance. The ceremony recreates the scene of King Le Dai Hanh going down to the fields to plow, performed by highly virtuous elders of Doi Son village.
