On the way back, King Minh Menh went down the Day River to visit Kem Trong and Dich Long. When he admired the beautiful scenery here, he understood the meaning of the poem that the queen of classical poetry Ho Xuan Huong wrote. Therefore, he had people dig this river.

In addition, Dao River also has other legends. The Le Dynasty had a village general, Doan Vi, who fought consistently and was promoted to the position of Duke. Quan Thuong Che and the king were afraid that the throne would belong to the Duke, so they forced the people to finish digging the river within a day to destroy the ley line. While digging this river, many people died, their blood mixed with the river water.
