Charming poetic landscape: Kem Trong Ha Nam

Ha Nam is not only famous for its traditional craft villages and spiritual cultural tourist areas, but it is also known for its poetic and lyrical landscapes. Among them, it is impossible not to mention the Kem Trong landscape. Next, let's find out what's special about Ha Nam Zinc Drum!

1. Introducing the landscape of Kem Trong Ha Nam

Kem Trong belongs to Thanh Hai commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province. This is a poetic landscape ranked in 1962, located right on National Highway 1A, about 80 km south of Hanoi city center.

Kem Trong is simply understood as a gap between two limestone mountains created by a river flowing in the middle. The scenery here is not vast, nor overwhelming like other natural landscapes. Kem Trong is a landscape including trees, rice fields, mountains, and scenes of heaven and earth, of people. build. They all blend together to create a complete ensemble. Here, the gentle Day River flows from the Northwest through many villages, winding between two limestone mountains. The deep blue sky, blue mountains and clear blue water create a very poetic and lyrical landscape.

In the early morning, the mountains seem to be floating on the sea with clouds and fog. That dreamy, magical scene is like a fragment from a fairy tale, its dreamy beauty is full of charm. Moreover, when the sun rises, we can also hear the natural sounds of the mountains and forests, the chirping of birds, the pleasant sounds of fishermen casting their nets,... Groups of sailboats sail up and down the sea. Kem Trong makes the scene even more vivid.

When passing through Kem Trong, facing this breathtaking landscape of mountains and rivers, lyrical heaven and earth, the queen of classical poetry, Ho Xuan Huong, left behind a poem that was both romantic and realistic, passed down by many generations to come.

2. The poetic beauty of Kem Trong Ha Nam

On both sides are mountains, in the middle is a river
Is this Zinc Drum?
The wind shook the tree branches
Waves piled up on the water's surface and flapped loudly
Inside the slightly narrow curved mountain cave
Coming out of the mountain, it was already spacious
Go through the door so you should look back
No one knows the pain.

Through Ho Xuan Huong's poem, we understand more about the landscapes and terrain here. Indeed, Kem Trong is a charming landscape, a natural landscape that nature bestows. Let's take a look at some of the poetic beauty of Kem Trong Ha Nam!

The mountain around Kem Trong

Coming to Kem Trong Ha Nam, you can also visit and experience the surrounding mountains. On the banks of the Day River, there are wild mountains on the right bank such as Vong Mountain, Bong Mountain, and Dragon Mountain. On the other side, there are Co Dong mountain, Turtle mountain, Trinh Tiet pagoda, etc. On the mountain of Trinh Tiet pagoda, there is an ancient pagoda. People here believe that the pagoda is to get the spirit of heaven and earth. The high, low, rolling mountains have created a diverse and eye-catching landscape.

Dao River

Located on the left bank of the Day River, Dao River is more than two kilometers long, flowing around Turtle Mountain and Co Dong Mountain. This river is associated with the story of King Minh Menh. According to the story, in 1821, when he first ascended the throne, he launched a tour from the capital Hue to Bac Ha. On the way back, King Minh Menh went down the Day River to visit Kem Trong and Dich Long. When he admired the beautiful scenery here, he understood the meaning of the poem that the queen of classical poetry Ho Xuan Huong wrote. Therefore, he had people dig this river.

In addition, Dao River also has other legends. The Le Dynasty had a village general, Doan Vi, who fought consistently and was promoted to the position of Duke. This place has many landmarks such as Dragon River, King's Wharf,... and the feng shui of this land is very good. However, every time he passed this place, Thuong Che told the king that he had to cut off the dragon vein to avoid future disasters. Quan Thuong Che and the king were afraid that the throne would belong to the Duke, so they forced the people to finish digging the river within a day to destroy the ley line. While digging this river, many people died, their blood mixed with the river water.

Trinh Tiet Pagoda

For a long time, every time tourists come to visit and sightsee in Kem Trong, they still cannot forget a pagoda - which is considered a fairy tale of this landscape. The pagoda is located halfway up Trinh Tiet mountain. The pagoda's name is "Buddha Tich Tu", the simple name is "Trinh Tiet Son Tu" but people here are familiar with the name "Trinh Tiet Pagoda". The pagoda was built in a bi-style architecture, consisting of two buildings and each building has three compartments. In the harem, there is a shrine to a princess of the Tran Dynasty. In addition, in Kem Trong there are also mysterious caves. However, visitors cannot enter the cave because the cave entrance is very narrow, but just standing next to it and admiring the majestic mountain scenery is very interesting.
