Khanh Long Pagoda, a historical ancient temple, originated from the Tran dynasty period (under the reign of King Tran Minh Tong, around 1321-1324). According to local tradition and historical records, this site used to be the residence and meditation place of many Buddhist monks during the Tran, Later Le, and Nguyen dynasties. In the 7th Canh Hung period, the pagoda was expanded and renovated. The ancient bell of the pagoda was also cast during this time. However, about 20 years ago, due to neglect and lack of care, the bell was stolen.

In 2010, Venerable Thich Tam Tue from Hue, on his pilgrimage journey, decided to stop and restore the pagoda on the existing historical site, creating a new picture for Khanh Long Pagoda with architectural styles reminiscent of Hue.
 

Khanh Long Pagoda, a historical landmark with over 100 years of age, is not only a place of worship for Buddha, Mother Goddess, and ancestral masters but also a symbol of solemnity and community spirit. From 2004 to the present, the pagoda has undergone restoration and embellishment, with nearly 20 billion VND contributed from various social sources, local residents, and Buddhists inside and outside the country, along with support from the authorities.
 

The pagoda's premises are an exquisite and spacious space, covering an area of ​​up to 1600 square meters, attracting the attention of many visitors not only for its physical beauty but also for the spiritual atmosphere here. The bell casting ceremony took place at 8 a.m. on June 11th, equivalent to April 24th in the lunar calendar, with the participation of representatives from the provincial Buddhist association, local authorities, along with thousands of monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers, creating a solemn and sacred atmosphere.

To create this bell, primary materials such as gold brass, red brass, and tin were used. The bell is robust, with a height of 2.07 meters and a diameter of 1.1 meters, weighing over 500 kilograms. Each detail on the bell's surface was meticulously engraved by bronze-casting artisans from Y Yen craft village, Nam Dinh province. The total cost to create this bell exceeded 600 million VND, contributed by the community, Buddhists, and philanthropists.
 

The bell casting ceremony took place in a solemn and successful atmosphere, witnessed by senior monks and the enthusiastic participation of local residents and Buddhist followers. The bell casting not only signifies the preservation of spiritual and cultural heritage but also serves as an opportunity to promote community solidarity and educate future generations about gratitude and respect for origins.
