Ha Nam is gradually promoting the development of local culture


Ha Nam is a region with a rich history and culture, boasting an immense treasure trove of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the distinctive characteristics of the Red River Delta region. With nearly 2,000 historical and cultural sites, including 2 special national monuments, 95 nationally ranked sites, and 133 provincially ranked sites; 3 national treasures; 12 exemplary intangible cultural heritages listed in the national intangible cultural heritage inventory; over 100 traditional festivals, 40 traditional craft villages... Along with that are the famous river and mountain systems, caves such as Tam Chuc Lake, Ba Hang Lake, Doi Mountain - Chau River, Forbidden Mountain - Ngu Dong Son... which are attractive destinations for tourists from both domestic and international.

To date, on the provincial territory, characteristic tourism products have been developed such as: rural tourism products with traditional craft villages: Dai Hoang fish sauce village, Tam Doi Drum village, Nha Xa silk village... Cultural-spiritual tourism, festivals: Ba Danh pagoda, Tran Thuong temple, Long Doi Son pagoda, Lanh Giang temple, Dia Tang Phi Lai pagoda, Nguyen Khuyen street, Nam Cao writer-martyr memorial area; Dich Dien festival, Tran Thuong temple donation ceremony.

Especially, Tam Chuc Tourism Area is a prominent highlight of Ha Nam tourism. Tam Chuc National Tourism Area covers a total area of 5,100 hectares, with pristine and majestic natural scenery. Tam Chuc is evaluated as an attractive tourist destination with international stature due to its absolute advantages in natural landscapes, located within the system of majestic limestone mountains, being one of the connecting points of valuable heritages such as Perfume Pagoda - Tam Chuc Pagoda - Bai Dinh Pagoda. In 2019, Tam Chuc Pagoda was chosen to host the 16th United Nations Day of Vesak, attracting millions of Buddhist followers and tourists from both domestic and international.
 

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Ha Nam Cultural Tourism Week, Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee of Ha Nam, affirmed that the province is continuing to expedite the completion of overall planning adjustments and approval of functional zoning plans for tourist sites; enhancing communication activities, promotion, researching and constructing closely-linked routes with tourist hubs nationwide such as: Hanoi, Haiphong, Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City to promote and seek connection with businesses, especially with major travel companies to organize new attractive tours to the province.
 

In terms of foreign affairs and investment promotion, Ha Nam has strengthened cooperation with many localities and organizations of many countries, notably Japan. The province has successfully organized cultural exchange programs between Vietnam and Japan through traditional arts such as Kyogen and Cheo, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. The program aims to continue introducing and honoring the beauty of traditional cultures, the close relationship, and the enduring friendship between the two countries, between Ha Nam province and Japanese localities and organizations.

In addition to the efforts of state management agencies, Ha Nam province has received support from businesses, residents, and tourists, all aiming to promote cultural, sports, and tourism activities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, building a wealthier, more civilized Ha Nam.
